INFRASTRUCTURE & PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

Fort Worth is a growing city with growing needs. One of those needs is an expansion of the city’s infrastructure in order to keep up with population change. It is the city council’s job to ensure we are ready for the future in this regard, yet our current leaders have failed to prepare us time and time again. In the coming years, we will need sufficient public transportation expansion, an increase in the amount of affordable housing available, and a re-evaluation of our current zoning, among other infrastructure improvements.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

Both our economy and environment would benefit substantially from an improvement and expansion of public transportation in the city. It would make Fort Worth more competitive for future business investment, create jobs, and save people money on fuel. Moreover, public transportation would reduce carbon emissions, making the air we breathe cleaner and safer.

AFFORDABLE HOUSING

We must ensure that we are protecting low-income communities as our city expands. Incentivizing affordable housing developments and creating second chance loans for those who qualify are just a couple of steps we could take.

MAINTENANCE & REPAIR

Many neighborhood streets, curbs, sidewalks, etc. in Fort Worth are in major disrepair. Our city should be responsive to the maintenance and code enforcement requests of its citizens. All around the district, responsible homeowners who take good care of their property are frustrated the city has not done their share in maintaining clean and safe neighborhoods. District 8 deserves the same care and attention as any other district.
